As part of its ongoing commitment to community development and the advancement of sustainable agriculture in Iraq, the Lebanese French University (LFU) proudly sponsored a specialized training seminar for farmers under the theme “Towards a Modern Agricultural Season – Nineveh as a Model”.
The event was organized in collaboration with LASS Industrial Investment Company, the Local Union of Farmers’ Associations, the Nineveh Agriculture Directorate, and the Agricultural Cooperative Bank. The seminar brought together representatives from the agricultural directorate and farmers’ unions, in addition to a large number of farmers from Nineveh, Kirkuk, and Salah Al-Din governorates.
The workshop introduced participants to the interest-free installment purchasing mechanism offered through the Agricultural Cooperative Bank, in partnership with LASS, allowing farmers to acquire:
- New Holland tractors and harvesters.
- Atlantis center-pivoted irrigation systems.
- ERHAS fixed irrigation systems from Turkey.
Experts from New Holland Italy presented detailed insights into the technical advantages of the equipment, while LASS representatives explained financing procedures and required guarantees clearly and practically.
Participants expressed their appreciation for the initiative, commending LFU and its partners for their efforts to modernize the agricultural sector, empower local farmers, and support sustainable farming practices through knowledge-sharing and innovative financing solutions.
