Lebanese French University (LFU) is dedicated to integrating the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into its institutional mission and daily operations. We believe that academic institutions can play a vital role in advancing a more sustainable future. Below is how LFU commits to and acts upon these global goals:

Our Commitment

• Embedding SDGs in Curriculum and Research:
  LFU ensures that sustainability themes are weaved into teaching, learning, and scholarly research. By designing curricula around environmental, social, and economic sustainability, we prepare students to become agents of change.

• Sustainable Campus Operations
  The University actively pursues greener campus practices—ranging from energy conservation and waste reduction to concise water usage and biodiversity protection—thus minimizing the university’s ecological footprint.

• Community Engagement & Partnerships
  LFU collaborates with governmental bodies, non-profit organizations, and local communities to execute sustainability projects and awareness programs, thus extending our impact beyond campus boundaries.

• Monitoring and Reporting
  In line with global standards, the University tracks performance indicators related to each SDG. Regular reporting ensures transparency and helps guide continuous improvement.

How Students & Staff Participate

• Projects & Initiatives
  Students and faculty are encouraged to propose and join sustainability-related initiatives—such as community cleanups, renewable energy proposals , educational campaigns, and social development programs.

• Training & Capacity Building
  Workshops and seminars on sustainability, climate change mitigation, and responsible governance are regularly conducted to amplify institutional capacity.

• Governance & Policies
  LFU aligns its institutional policies—procurement, infrastructure planning, and strategic development—with sustainability principles and the SDGs.
