On October 29th, 2024, the College of Administration and Economics at the Lebanese French University (LFU) conducted a significant workshop focused on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their impact in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
The event, held at 1:30 PM in the LFU seminar hall, was moderated by Dr. Zinar Nahro, the university’s Quality Assurance Director. The workshop featured two prominent speakers: Shara Sabir Majid, an experienced NGO professional from Mitani SQU, and Lara Burhan, a faculty member from LFU’s Accounting Department.
During the workshop, attendees engaged in a productive dialogue about the progress and challenges of SDG implementation in the region. Key topics included the university’s strategic plans for advancing SDGs, particularly those relevant to higher education, and the role of LFU in promoting sustainable development.
The workshop highlighted LFU’s commitment to integrating SDGs into its academic and administrative practices, underscoring the importance of sustainable development in Kurdistan.
