“Evaluation of Participants in the Student Training Program: Discussing the Role of Supervisors.”

On 3 February 2026, the Department of Health Hospital Management and the Department of Business Administration at the College of Administration and Economics jointly organized a workshop entitled:

“Evaluation of Participants in the Student Training Program: Discussing the Role of Supervisors.”

The workshop addressed the evaluation of student internship programs as a key component of experiential learning in higher education. It was delivered by Assistant Lecturers Abdulqader Abdulameer and Chiman Ahmed, who provided both theoretical and practical insights into effective assessment practices within training environments.

The session focused on examining current evaluation mechanisms and clarifying the role of supervisors in assessing student performance. Emphasis was placed on the importance of clear, measurable, and transparent criteria to ensure fairness and consistency in grading, particularly regarding the impact of internship performance on students’ final academic results.

Participants actively engaged in discussions about assessment tools, common challenges such as subjectivity and coordination gaps, and the need for standardized evaluation frameworks. The workshop highlighted the supervisor’s role not only as an evaluator but also as a mentor supporting students’ professional development.

Overall, the workshop strengthened participants’ understanding of effective internship evaluation practices and reinforced the importance of structured, outcome-oriented assessment systems that enhance academic quality and professional readiness.
