LFU College of Health Sciences Organizes Workshop on “Food Storage and Public Health”

The College of Health Sciences at the Lebanese French University organized an educational workshop titled “Food Storage and Public Health” on October 13, 2024. The workshop aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of proper food storage methods, the prevention of food spoilage, and the importance of minimizing food waste to protect community health.

The session was presented by Assistant Lecturer Shelan H. Youns from Gasha Institute and moderated by Assistant Lecturer Banaz S. Haji from the Lebanese French University. Assistant Lecturer Shelan explained in detail the principles of safe food handling, proper temperature control, and hygiene practices essential for maintaining food quality and preventing foodborne diseases.

During the workshop, practical examples were shared to illustrate how effective storage techniques can reduce waste and promote sustainability in food consumption. The presenter also discussed the connection between food safety and public health, emphasizing how proper storage contributes to overall well-being.

The workshop concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where participants actively engaged and shared their views on reducing food waste in daily life. The College of Health Sciences continues to organize such academic and awareness-focused activities to encourage healthy and sustainable practices within the university community.
