ABSTRACT

The study looked at the effect of computerized Accounting Information System (AIS) on the performance of Erbil banks. The purpose of this research is to assess the influence of automated information systems (AIS) on the efficiency of bank personnel performance, customer satisfaction, and service delivery in Erbil banks. To reach the study's ultimate goal, the survey research design and stratified sample approach were used , and the sample population  where the questionnaire was distributed in the city of Erbil to a group of private banks, including (RT Bank , Cihan Bank, Kurdistan Bank) in Erbil. The questionnaire consists of two parts, the first part includes questions related to general information, and the second part includes questions related to accounting information to evaluate the performance of banks and contribute to economic development .

the study recommended that bank management should intensify investment in ICT products to facilitate speed, convenience, and accurate services. These will make Erbil banks to be efficient, profitable, and competitive and to cope with the changes and challenges that are the outcome of ICT controlled globalized economy. The study also recommended that regulatory authorities like Erbil bank must stipulate standards for the banks to follow to avoid making Erbil Banking Sector a dumping ground for the outdated technological infrastructures. To counter the legal threat and security posed to net banking and e-commerce, the necessary legal codes backing the industry must be established; this will enhance the growth of the industry.
