reading skills on different levels of English language proficiency, compares
genders, and compares learners with different learning styles. Our research
also aims to investigate students' attitudes towards the use of short stories in
English as a foreign language and determine whether they can improve their
language or expand their thinking, as well as enhance their cultural skills and
ways, suggestions and uses of short story learning.
The aim of our research is to prove that short stories have the ability to enrich
students' language skills to enhance their motivational skills and develop
their cultural sensitivity and awareness. Therefore, it was found that short
stories are an effective motivator and challenge students to develop skills
such as reading and writing, but do not have a significant impact on their
fluency. The types of stories presented to students, such as religious, social,
historical, political, and so on, may affect students' language ability to
acquire vocabulary, understand the content of short stories, and practice their
language proficiently, or be grammatically wrong Correct the student's
