On octobor17, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. to3:00 p.m., the Department of Information Technology, College of Engineering and Computer Science organized a National Workshop for faculty members titled “Evolutionary Algorithms for single and Multi objective optimization problems” The session was presented by Asst.Prof. Dr.S.T.Suganthi . There were 16 participants in attendance at this workshop most of them from the college of engineering and Computer Science.
Workshop Description: This workshop gave an introduction basic concept of optimization problems and its approaches in general.
At the end of the workshop participant will be able:
- To understand basic concept of optimization problems
- To know various nature inspired Evolutionary Computation technique
- To know how these approaches identify and exploit biological processes, allowing a wide range of applications to be solved in the field of optimization.
- The Participants can able to apply various EC techniques and applications to real life problems.

Dr. S.T.Suganthi is currently working as Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Engineering, College of Engineering & Computer Science, Lebanese French University, Erbil, Kurdistan, Iraq. She is a proficient academician with over 14 years of experience in teaching and research in various educational institutions. She obtained the undergraduate degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and the postgraduate degree in Power Systems Engineering from Anna University, Chennai in 2005 and 2010 respectively. She has earned the Ph.D. degree from the Anna University, Chennai under the faculty of Electrical Engineering in 2018.
As an outstanding researcher, Dr.S.T.Suganthi has been awarded with Robert S McNamara Fellowship from World Bank, for pursuing Ph.D through Research Based Student Exchange Programme in Multimedia University, Malaysia. She published more than 30 research articles in various reputed international journals and conferences. She has guided 10 master thesis and 10 undergraduate projects. Her areas of interest include Artificial Intelligence, Evolutionary computation, Deep learning and Multi objective Optimization.
