The college of engineering and Computer Science/Department of Information Technology held a national workshop titled “cryptocurrencies (Digital Currency)” on Monday, January 31, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Assistant Professor Dr. Saravana Balaji B. presented the workshop. The workshop focused on the evolution of cryptocurrencies, as well as processing systems and platforms. Various kinds of cryptocurrencies, their present worth, marketplaces, investment plans, and security, among other things. It also gave insight into issues such as cryptocurrency mining, transactions, and legality.
There were 17 participants most of them were College of Engineering and Computer Science faculty members.
Workshop Outcomes:
- Provides information about cryptocurrencies (Digital Currency).
- It will highlight how cryptocurrencies evolved, frameworks & platforms for mining. Different types of cryptocurrencies, and the current value of cryptocurrencies, markets, investment plans, security etc.
- It will also provide insights on the issues of cryptocurrency mining, transaction, legality etc.

Presenter Information:
Dr. Saravana Balaji B is currently working as Assistant Professor, Department of Information Technology, College of Engineering and Computer Science, Lebanese French University, Erbil, Kurdistan, Iraq. He has 16 years of teaching and research experience. His research interests are cloud computing, machine learning, and computer networks. He has been acted as a resource person for various workshops and faculty development programs organized by various institutions. He completed his undergraduate, postgraduate engineering degrees in Computer Science and Engineering and earned a Ph.D. degree in Information and Communication Engineering. So for he has published more than 50 research articles in various reputed international SCI & Scopus indexed journals, conferences, and 3 patents.
