On 18th, February, English department had held workshops for training teachers. Mrs. Meram Salim had presented a session entitled ‘Self Management as a way for Better Student Management’. She focused on the role of self-management and self-improvement to develop teachers’ teaching skills and teachers’ personality as individuals. In terms of time management, personal development and positivity. However, she highlighted the various ways that teachers can use for self-education and self-control in necessary school situations.Also the impact of the teacher’s role on the learners was another part of the session. All the above has been proven through an activity. She ended her session with suggesting five books to better apply what she has explained.
After a brief break on the same day Miss. Eiram Amjed presented her session called ‘Education and the mechanism of mind’. She had talked about the mechanism of learning any type of information through the mind and the types of learners that teachers deal with inside the class. In order to choose the best suitable method in regard to their learning style. She highlighted the power of conscious and sub-conscious mind and the way they are used. She further focused on the ways of learning something and turning it into a habit after 21 days and the process of unlearning or forgetting any info would take 254 days or 8.5 months. She had also gone through the best teaching styles that suit each type of learner inside the class, in terms of their strength and weakness points that must be dealt with sensitively.
On 25th, February, the lecturers presented additional sessions under the title ‘healthy body and productive mind’ Miss. Eiram had presented the characteristics of an unhealthy mind, their daily actions, their toxic communication skills, and their negative mindsets about every notions. Mrs. Meram elaborated the second type of the mindset, which was the healthy one. She had analyzed their characteristics, their healthy mindsets, their life style, and their communication with the society and their surroundings. Then Miss. Eiram engaged the session with activities about the mechanism of both mindsets by making circles through teachers standing in circles. Each teacher represented a different type of info and the process of different circulation of the mind neurons.
Ms. Meram connected the topic with Mel Robin’s concept of ‘5 Second Rules’, and the four key areas of our lives, starting from health and wellness, work career or business, relationships and love, and fun and happiness.
Another activity by Miss. Eiram involved the teachers into a “habit detoxing” activity. One of the teachers had applied a mind and vision activation of detoxing her negative daily habit and she went through the process and felt comfortable at the end of the process. At the end Mrs. Meram concluded the session with an activity that shows the toxic side of the society and how we practice them normally as a natural habit. They ended the session by recommending some important books.
