In collaboration with the Iraqi Society for Engineering Management, the Department of Information Technology at the College of Engineering and Computer Science hosted a scientific symposium titled “Encouraging the Application of Applied Research” on Tuesday, February 28, 2023. The symposium lasted two days. The first speaker was (Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Hamarash), who discussed Making Industry University Partnerships Work. The second speaker was (Asst.Prof. Dr. Tareef Kamil), who discussed the impact of software on politics, humanities, and literature. On the second day, there was a panel discussion titled “Developing Marketing and Stimulating Research,” which was moderated by (Dr. Banar Fareed) and featured speakers (Asst. Prof. Dr. Suhad Faisal) and others (Mr. Godar Ibrahim). Whereas Asst. Prof. Dr. Suhad Faisal discussed how to motivate universities to develop practical research and encourage researchers and students to conduct it, as well as how to develop this aspect in universities. Godar Ibrahim discussed how marketing development works and how to connect the theoretical and practical sides.

Prof.Dr.Ibrahim Ismael Hamad
He is the co-founder of the Mobile Education Centre for Regeneration Energy and Automation (MECREA) with Karlsruhe University for Applied Science, Germany. He received research grants from NSF(USA), IRIS (USA), delPHI (UK), DAAD (Germany). He is a member of the Kurdistan Engineers Union, the Iraqi Engineers Syndicate and senior member of IEEE.
Asst.Prof.Dr.Tareeff Kamil Al-Shaibi
is currently working at the University of Baghdad. his general major is computer science,his exact specialization is information technology and data mining. The researcher is still working and exploring the secrets of data and developing algorithms in data mining in many original researches. He worked as a teacher at the University of Putra, the Islamic University, Lincoln College in Malaysia before returning to teach at his motherland university in 2011.
Dr.Banar Fareed Ibrahim
Currently, she is working as a Vice president of scientific affairs of Lebenses French university. She has 10 years of teaching and research experience. She also has a strong knowledge of computer networks and V2V Communication. She acted as a resource person for various workshops and faculty development programs organized by different institutions. She has completed undergraduate and postgraduate study in Computer Science. She earned her Ph.D. degree from Cyprus International University under the faculty of the Computer Engineering Department. So far, she published several research articles in various reputed international journals and conferences. Her research interests include Networking, Security, data processing, simulation, and IoT.
Dr. Suhad Faisal Behadili
She is Assistant Professor in Computer Science Department\ College of Science\ University of Baghdad, Baghdad/Iraq. She has a Ph.D. from the LITIS at Normandie University-Le Havre/ France. She is currently editorial member of the American Journal of Information Science and Technology. She is a program committee member in several international conferences, and a reviewer for IJS and IASET journals.
Mr.Godar Ibrahim
He is the Founder/CEO of Awrosoft ICT solutions.He has over 20 years of working experience in different Telecom, IT and computing.He received his M.S. and B.S. in Software Engineering from University of Salahaddin-Hawler. PhD. Candidate; Salahaddin University & Wrexham Glyndwr University. He is also a faculty member at Software Engineering Department/Salahaddin University-Erbil.
