The Department of Health Administration, on Tuesday, March,8,2022, held the community activity entitled “Women are the basis of life”. The community activity was presented by Ary Rafiq Shafiq/ Assistant Director-General for Combating Violence against Women and the family at the Ministry of Interior, at the beginning of the community addressed the issue related to the subject, also gave the reasons leading to the violence against women in our society. also, he presented all data about the cases that happened in the Kurdistan region from 2019- to 2021. This community was issued by assisting Mrs. Shirin Jamal Mohammad, who is an assistant lecturer at Lebanese French University and is ahead department of health administration.
Community Outcomes:
The following recommendation was given to reduce the violence against women:
- The necessity of educating families to guide their members to view women as an element no less than men.
- Issuance of tougher project laws by Parliament against perpetrators of crimes against violence should be prepared and worked on.
