National Workshop : ” AI Applications and its challenges “

The faculty of Engineering and Computer Science, department of Computer Engineering organized a national workshop entitled: “AI Applications and its challenges” for faculty members on 18 February, 2024. The session lasted from 1 to 3 pm. The session was presented by: (Asst. Prof. Shahab Wahhab Kareem) from Lebanese French University, Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science, department of Computer Engineering.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is the intelligence demonstrated by machines that act or think like humans and can be taught to solve specific problems. AI is a mix of techniques called machine learning and deep learning. Artificial intelligence models are trained with huge amounts of data and can make intelligent decisions independently. Global artificial intelligence (AI) software sales are expected to reach $126 billion by 2025, according to Statista.

Workshop Outcomes:

  • AI is now part of our daily life and used in many fields.
  • AI is used in healthcare, banking, transportation, retail, and manufacturing to improve employee and customer experiences.
  • AI can automate routine tasks, analyze data to find insights people miss, and provide tailored services.
  • Like with any new technology, ethical considerations, data privacy, and job displacement must be addressed.
  • Despite these drawbacks, AI has many benefits, and its continuous development promises even more imaginative uses.
  • If developed and handled ethically, AI can help civilization overcome intractable problems.
