On Thursday, November 30, 2023, College of Education and Languages, Department of English Language, orchestrated a national workshop entitled “From Silence to Strength: Empowering Women Through Collective Support.” This session aimed to address gender violence on an individual basis, emphasizing the significance of seemingly inconspicuous daily actions.
Mrs. Banaz Wirya led a compelling discourse, delving into various manifestations of violence and actively engaging the audience in a thought-provoking dialogue. Subsequently, Mrs. Meram Salim undertook the second segment of the workshop, distributing orange flowers as a symbolic gesture to combat hatred and violence. She acquainted the audience with the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, highlighting the United Nations’ annual thematic approach to this initiative.
Mrs. Meram encouraged participants to introspect on their individual responsibility in eradicating gender-based violence. She urged vigilance in communication, advising attendees to choose their words meticulously in interactions with colleagues and family, emphasizing the pivotal role of language in preventing the perpetuation of violence.

- Increased Awareness: The workshop raised awareness of diverse gender violence forms through discussions by Mrs. Banaz and symbolic gestures with orange roses by Mrs. Meram Salim.

مامۆستای یاریدەدەر بەناز وریا لە بەشی یەکەمی وۆرکشۆپەکە باسی لە توندوتیژی و جۆرەکانی و هۆکار و چارەسەرەکانی کرد، بە پرسیار و تێبینیەکانی سەرنجی ئامادەبوانی راکێشا و گفتۆگۆیەکی پر سوودی دروست کرد. لە بەشی دووەمی وۆرکشۆپەکە مامۆستای یاریدەدەر مێرەم سالم گوڵی پرتەقاڵی دابەش کرد وەک ئاماژەیەکی سیمبۆلی بۆ بەرەنگاربوونەوەی ڕق و کینە و توندوتیژی. ئەو ئامادەبووانی بە 16 ڕۆژی بەرەنگاربوونەوەی توندوتیژی لەسەر بنەمای ڕەگەزی ئاشنا کرد کە لە ۲٥ تشرینی دووەم دەست پێدەکات و لە ١٠ کانونی یەکەم کۆتای دێت. لەم بەشەی وۆرکشۆپەکە پێشکەشکار تیشکی خستە سەر ڕێگای بابەتی و ئەو بیرۆکانەی ساڵانەی نەتەوە یەکگرتووەکان بۆ ئەم دەستپێشخەرییە
مامۆستا مێرەم سالم هانی بەشداربووان دەدات کە لێکۆڵینەوە لە بەرپرسیارێتی تاکەکەسی خۆیان بکەن لە ڕیشەکێشکردنی توندوتیژی لەسەر بنەمای جێندەر. ئەو داوای وریابوونی لە پەیوەندییەکاندا کرد و ئامۆژگاری ئامادەبووانی کرد کە وشەکانیان بە وردی هەڵبژێرن لە کاتی کارکردن و لەگەڵ هاوکارەکانیان و ژیانی رۆژانەیان لە نێو خێزانەکانیان و جەختی کردەوە لەسەر ڕۆڵی سەرەکی زمان لە ڕێگریکردن لە بەردەوامی توندوتیژی
