On February 21, 2023, the Department of Health Administration at the College of Administration and Economics organized a community activity in collaboration with the Civil Development Organization. The purpose of the event was to raise awareness about illegal immigration and the trade of illegal immigrants, as well as to highlight ways to prevent illegal migration in the Kurdistan Region.
The event was prompted by the fact that approximately 27 million young people worldwide are international migrants who leave their home countries in search of better economic opportunities, education, marriage, or to escape poverty, violence, conflict, or environmental changes.
As part of the activity, brochures, leaflets, and other informative materials were distributed to students and teachers in all departments to increase awareness of the dangers of illegal immigration and to offer solutions to the issue. The event’s aim was to encourage community members to take action in reducing the prevalence of illegal immigration in the Kurdistan Region.
