Kurdish Language: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow

On Monday, 21/2/2023, Kurdish Language department in College of Education and Languages conducted an international workshop entitled (Kurdish language: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow). In the first session, Asst. Lect. Mohammed Qolmarfi, lecturer at LFU, shed light on the importance of Kurdish language and its everyone’s role to protect the language and let it maintain its position in the list of world languages. In the second session, Dr. Faryad Fazil, founder and director of Kurdih language institte in Berlin, gave a speech about Kurdish language. He touched upon many important topics about Kurdish language including Kurdish Standard and all the works he has done for Kurdish language. Finally, he also discussed some literary works of Classic Kurdish writers.

Outcomes

  1. Kurdish language is like any other language and must be protected from dying out.
  2. Language is the national identity of any nations which makes it an important part of human life and should be kept this way
