Department of Sociology at the College of Law and International Relations of Lebanese French University held a scientific national workshop entitled ‘Social Control’. The workshop was presented by lecturer Suzan Sabri, the head of Sociology Department and lecturer Saad Bakr who is currently teaching as a part-time lecturer at the Department of Sociology at Lebanese French University.
The workshop was held at the university’s seminar hall on Monday, February the 6th, 2023, at 1:30 pm. The attendees were the deans of different colleges and heads of departments together with a significant number of lecturers and students from different stages of the Lebanese French University. Mrs. Suzan Sabri started the session by giving a short introduction about the topic and its importance. Then, the second speaker Mr. Saad Bakr elaborated on the topic of social control from a sociological point of view.
Mr. Saad Bakr provided a deep analysis related to various methods of social control combined with its types to familiarize the audience of the workshop. He also concentrated on the definition by sharing a clear and general background to cover the exact concept of social control. In addition, Mr. Bakr claimed the importance of the topic in question by showing internal and external factors and their influence on members of a certain society.
During the workshop, the audience had the opportunity to raise questions and comment on the given content of the main topic where there was also room for further discussions.

The following recommendations were given to analyze the concept of social control.
- Analyzing social control in the Kurdish society.
- Understanding the impact of social control on individual and social level.

وۆرکشۆپەکە لە ڕۆژی دووشەممەی (٦)ی (٢)ی ساڵی (٢٠٢٣) کاتژمێر (١،٣٠) یەک و نیوی دوای نیوەڕۆ لە هۆڵی سیمیناری زانکۆی لوبنانی فەڕەنسی بەڕێوەچوو. ئامادەبوانی وۆرکشۆپەکە بریتیبوون لە ڕاگرەکانی کۆلێژەکان و سەرۆکی بەشەکان و ژمارەیەکی بەرچاو لە وانەبێژان و خوێندکارانی قۆناغە جیاوازەکانی زانکۆی لوبنانی فەرەنسی. سەرەتا مامۆستا سۆزان پێشەکیەکی لەسەر بابەتی کۆنترۆڵی کۆمەڵایەتی پێشکەشکردوو پاشان مامۆستا سەعد بەکر لەڕوانگەی سۆسیۆلۆژییەوە باسی کۆنتڕۆڵی کۆمەڵایەتی کرد.
مامۆستا سەعد بەکر بە قووڵی شێوازەکانی کۆنتڕۆڵی کۆمەڵایەتی لەگەڵ جۆرەکانیدا شیکردەوە. بۆ ئاشناکردنی ئامادەبوانی وۆرکشۆپەکە تیشکی خستە سەر پێناسەی کۆنترۆڵی کۆمەڵایەتی لە ڕێی ڕوانینێکی ڕوون و گشتی بە مەبەستی داپۆشینی چەمکی کۆنتڕۆڵی کۆمەڵایەتی، هەروەها باسی گرنگییەکانی بابەتی سەرەکی کرد لە ڕێی ئاماژەپێکردنی فاکتەرە ناوخۆییەکان و دەرەکییەکان و کاریگەرییان لەسەر ئەندامانی کۆمەڵگایەکی دیاریکراو.
لەکاتی وۆرکشۆپەکەدا ئامادەبوان دەرفەتی پرسیارکردن و بەرزکردنەوەی تێبینییەکانیان پێدرا لەسەر ناوەڕۆکی بابەتەکە ئەمەش ڕیگای خۆشکرد بۆ گفتوگۆکردن.
