Department of General Education in College of Education and Languages organized a training course under the title (Teaching Methodology ). The training course lasted for 2 weeks, 4 days a week, and 3 hours each session. The first session of the first week of the training started on 1st of February . The trainers were (Dr. Nethal Abdul-hafith Nasih ) and (Asst.Lect. Mrs. Laveen Kamaran Muhamad).
- In the first week of the training, Dr. Nethal explained all about teaching skills and the requirements for being a successful teacher. Beside that she clarified more about the characteristics of an effective teaching strategy along with leadership requirements in education.
- In the second week of the training, Asst.lect. Mrs. Laveen Kamaran Muhamad gave a clarification regarding approaches, methods, techniques and procedures in education. She explained the most common methodologies for teaching English language starting from ( Grammar translation method , direct method, audio lingual method, Presentation, practice and production Method, the Silent Way , Community Language Learning , Desuggestopedia, Total Physical Response , Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) and lastly Task-Based Learning (TBL). In addition, the significance of learner training (also known as learner autonomy) was discussed, emphasizing that students should be in charge of their own learning and rely on their own abilities. On the other side, the causes of discipline problems and strategies for avoiding them were also covered. Finally, Mrs. Laveen discussed the five stages of teacher development and the process by which instructors improve.

Mrs. Laveen Kamaran Muhamad holds Master’s degree in English language/ ELT from university of Suleimani. Currently working as a Assistant lecturer at Lebanese French University.
