Elderly and DisabledThe invisible classes in our Society

On Thursday 28 April 2022, the department of tourism administration conducted a national workshop entitled “Elderly and Disabled The invisible classes in our Society”.

The first session of the workshop was concerning elderly people and showed the methods of transforming this valuable class of our society from home to high presented care house to be more sociable and help them out from loneliness and how they can be organized and be taken care of by the trained and supported organization by both government and private sectors.

The second session of the national workshop was about disabled people and how to encourage both the public and private sectors to turn this class to be productive and engage them in the industry

Workshop Outcome

The following recommendation and advice were given to address the problems with these two forgotten classes in our society:

1-         To encourage public and private sectors to build quality care houses or care homes as a center for embracing our elderly parents under one ceiling

2-         Encourage the public and private sectors to establish companies for disabled material and have our disabled family members employed to be productive and sustain their own economy and be self-reliant.

3-         Raise awareness that these two valuable classes to not be forgotten in our society.
