Traduire la littérature kurde contemporaine. International Workshop
Under the patronage of the President of the Lebanese French University, Dr.Mohammad Sadik, and the Dean of the Faculty of Education and Languages Dr. Shareef Moulud, the department of French conducted an international workshop with reference to the official decree No. ED&L110 issued by the deanship of the College of Education and Languages on the date 24/10/2020. The international workshop took on Tuesday, January 26th, at 5:00 p.m, via the zoom platform. The workshop was presented by Dr. Sandrine Traïdia under the title “Traduire la littérature kurde contemporaine”. Dr. Sandrine Traïdia is well-known in France for her excellent knowledge of Kurdish linguistic and literature. She has translated in French Bakhtyar Ali’s roman “The last pomegranate of the world”. During her presentation, she shed light on the difficulty of translating a language as “rare” as the Kurdish language, illustrating it with many examples. All the participants were very attentive, encouraging Dr. Sandrine Traïdia to speak in Kurdish. They were about 30 persons from the Colleges of the Lebanese French University.
