Training Course: ” Linux Operating System”

The Department of Computer Networks in the College of Engineering and Computer Science conducts a training course titled “Linux Operating System” The training will be presented by ( Asst. Lect. Maryam Sarmad and Asst. Lect. Zinah Yaaqub) at 1:00 p.m. in the laboratory (5) of the Lebanese French University, College of Engineering and Computer Science. The training will consist of three sessions per week (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday).

Description:

Linux is an open-source operating system kernel developed by Linus Torvalds in 1991. It serves as the foundation for various Linux distributions (distros), each customized for specific purposes. Known for its powerful command-line interface, Linux supports multiple users, multitasking, and has a hierarchical file system. Security features, networking capabilities, and portability across hardware architectures make Linux popular for servers and embedded systems. This training course provides learners with the fundamental concepts of Linux operating systems. The training covers topics such as the history, features & distributions of Linux O.S., interfaces, command line, and shell programming. Learners will learn command line syntax and features of the popular Linux shells.
