Department of Kurdish Language

About the Department

The Department of Kurdish Language falls within the College of General Education, this newly established department seeks to enhance the knowledge, skills and practical experience of the students via comprehensive research and teaching. The university believes that Kurdish Language is significantly important in the Kurdistan Region as it is the mother tongue and scientific researches are encouraged to be scripted in Kurdish. It is another opportunity for native speakers of Kurdish to gain a deeper understanding of the language and the magnificent history behind the language. The department significantly concentrates on giving intensive language training courses in the Kurdish language and literature. Graduates of this department may pursue and abundant career options in the academic career.

VISION
MISSION

The Department of Kurdish Language and Literature at the Faculty of Education and Languages in Lebanese French University / Erbil looks forward to leadership and uniqueness locally as well as regionally through the graduation of scientific competencies. Likewise, it also looks forward to access a high level of quality in teaching, research, and service of the university and society.

The Kurdish Language Department seeks to provide an appropriate learning environment, to hold systematic and extracurricular activities, to make the scientific research as a priority for benefiting the local community and to prepare literary and linguistic specialists with research and professional skills, to contribute effectively for the development of society and to the needs of the labor market.
