Continuous Academic Development (CAD) is a strategic initiative designed by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MHESR) in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI). The program aims to encourage faculty members to enhance their academic performance through active contributions to improving the quality of education. Faculty are encouraged to engage in scientific research that addresses local challenges, publish their findings in regional and international journals, and participate in conferences, workshops, and other academic activities.
At the Lebanese French University (LFU), this initiative is implemented through a structured approach that ensures faculty members actively participate in their professional development. Each faculty member must dedicate at least 50 hours annually to CAD activities, including attending or presenting seminars, engaging in academic publications, and participating in collaborative research projects.
