On Thursday, May 30 , 2024, College of Education and Languages, the Department English language held the national workshop entitled “Steps to Succeed in the IELTS test.” The workshop’s first session was presented by Asst. Lect. Lana Dlawar Miran, an instructor at the Department of English Language at Lebanese French University. At the beginning of the workshop, the speaker delved into various strategies for each part of the IELTS Speaking Test, providing concrete examples to illustrate how to apply these methods to different types of questions. Additionally, she shared general pro tips that are applicable across all three parts of the test. She tried to discuss the methods for understanding the test formats and strategies. The second session was presented by Dr. Nahla N. Khorshid, an instructor at the Department of English Language at Lebanese French University. The speaker presented several effective techniques to enhance IELTS listening scores, drawing from real examples of past IELTS listening exams. The session provided valuable insights into optimizing performance on the listening component of the IELTS test by highlighting proven strategies and illustrating them with relevant examples from previous years’ exams.
