Teaching Methods

The principles of modern pedagogy didactics will be used to facilitate and enable learning in the field of French language. Students become the center of education, and teachers will facilitate their learning skills. Principles of communicative approach, E-learning, will enhance students’ competency in French language.
The well-researched and up-to-date curriculum of the Department has integrated various aspects of the French and Francophone studies to inculcate a learner on personal level as well as professional and social levels. The curriculum contains core courses on different aspects of language learning skills (speaking, writing, listening, and reading) and cultures of France and Francophone countries.

Along with those, the Department also provides a variety of vocational and professional courses, such as translation and interpretation, French for tourism and commerce, linguistics, or literature. Based learning, functional-notional approach, communicative approach, E-learning will be used. Students will be supported throughout their studies to ensure the development of their creativity. The modern pedagogy : didactics in this field helps students with a passion for learning French language and culture prepare for taking a wide range of roles and responsibilities in the local, teaching French as a foreign language and translate it.

Mode of Assessment

Both summative and formative assessments will assess students’ performance for each module.
Assessment tools could be different, but the final assessment for every module includes but is not
limited to the following criteria:

This program aims to:
• Communication Skills : To achieve advanced proficiency in French language, to attain
fluency in written and oral forms of expression; to be able to communicate, to be able to
comprehend and to develop complex ideas, in written and spoken contexts.
• Cultural and Historical Knowledge : To attain broad- based knowledge of French
speaking culture and its history, from a variety of critical points of view.
• Understanding of Identity Through Language, Literature, and Culture : To arrive at an
understanding of the relationship between language and the production of identity (across
cultures), and to be able to articulate the specific work done by literary texts—among
other cultural objects—within this framework.
• Advanced Writing and Research : To be able to write a longer research paper in French
language.

Upon completion of French studies students will have been assessed and will be able to:
• Actively engage in conversations and discussions with native speakers of French, ranging
in complexity from sophisticated everyday conversations to a basic familiarity
• Read and analyze authentic texts from many areas of French
• Produce written documents of sufficient consistent and reasonable clarity to be readily
intelligible to an outside reader;
• produce a written research project.

(Didactics of French as a foreign language, Linguistics, Translation, literature etc.)

4. French Translators- Interpreters, precisely in these fields: diplomacy field ( embassy-
