Empowering Academic Staff with Digital Literacy Skills.

On January 14, 2025, the Department of Health Management and Hospitals at Lebanese French University-Erbil conducted a national course entitled “Empowering Academic Staff with Digital Literacy Skills.” The session emphasized the significance of digital literacy for academic achievement, highlighting skills such as the utilization of online resources, content assessment, data management, ethical issues, and proficient digital communication.

Workshop Highlights: The event commenced with Assistant Lecturer Ronyaz Hayyas Mahmood, who delivered an enlightening overview of digital literacy and its significance in structuring daily academic tasks and fostering professional growth. She underscored pivotal inquiries such as:
“How does digital literacy fit into a teacher educator’s life?”
“What strategies can be employed to bridge the digital divide?”

The workshop’s second segment, conducted by Lecturer Hussein Ahmad Mustafa, examined fundamental digital literacy competencies for academic personnel, encompassing:

Access to International Knowledge and Research.
Overview of Optimal AI Tools for Research and Their Utilization in Academic Studies.
Strategies for Professional Development and Lifelong Learning.
Dissemination of online courses to enhance digital competencies.
