The College of Administration and Economics at the Lebanese French University recently conducted a professional academic competition named “Marketing and Salesmanship Skills.”

This event sought to augment students’ practical expertise in marketing and sales, offering them a significant platform to demonstrate their skills. The winners received employment possibilities at SONIC-Iraq Electronics, and the ceremony was organized and overseen by Ms. Roniaz Hiyass Mahmoud.
The competition was categorized into three tiers:

  1. Case Study Selection (Level One): Fourteen students presented marketing and salesmanship-focused case studies, showcasing problem-solving and decision-making skills. Seven students advanced to the next round.
  2. Brochure Development Assignment (Level Two): Participants created brochures for SONIC-Iraq, demonstrating creativity, branding understanding, and marketing material production skills. The top three students proceeded to the final round.
  3. Sales Simulation (Level Three): On December 19, 2024, at LFU’s Seminar Hall, students assumed the roles of SONIC-Iraq sales representatives marketing televisions in a competitive environment. A panel of judges assessed product knowledge, sales techniques, and negotiation skills. A panel of five judges, comprising four professional faculty members from the College of Administration and Economics and a representative from SONIC-Iraq, assessed the participants.
    The competition winners were as follows:
    First Place: Raman Dlawar
    Second Place: Mustafa Wshyar
    Third Place: Nergiz Fares
    This event demonstrated the university’s dedication to cultivating practical and industry-relevant competencies in its students. The partnership between academics and the commercial sector emphasized the necessity of equipping students with practical problems in marketing and sales.
