Training Course: “The Basic Concept of a Cloud-based Virtual Private”

From December 11 to 20, 2023, the Information Technology Department of the College of Engineering and Computer Science held a training course entitled “The Basic Concept of a Cloud-based Virtual Private Server” which included six sessions. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 1:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. were the three days of the week on which the course took place. The instructor of this training was Assistant Lecturer (Halmat Ayub). On Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., Associate Lecturer Halmat Ayub led the concluding training of the session. The majority of the twenty trainees present were faculty members from the College of Engineering and Computer Science at the Lebanese French University and other colleges.

At the end of the last session, participants had acquired the following knowledge:

  • Recognize the differences between different cloud computing platforms.
  • Recognize the unique difficulties that come with the transition from on-premises IT
    to cloud computing.
  • Distinction between private, public and hybrid clouds.
  • Ability to select various service provider models, such as SaaS, PaaS and IaaS.
  • Distinction between cloud storage and cloud computing.

About Instructor:

He has a BSc. Degree in Information Technology from the Lebanese French University in 2018 and MSc. Degree in Computer Information System from the Near East University in 2021. He is interested in the research areas of Programming and Cloud Computing.
