On Thursday, December 21, 2023, College of Education and Languages, Department of English Language held an international workshop, in a collaborative effort to delve into the profound influence of language on human existence, bringing together staff members from (Lebanese French University) and (Utara Malaysia University). The enlightening event was conducted by Associate Professor Dr. Manvender Kaur Sarjit Singh Asst. lect. Nahlah N. Khorsheed.
The workshop, held at the seminar hall, Lebanese French University, using zoom platform, displayed the depth and breadth of linguistic exploration. Associate Professor Dr. Manvender captivated the audience with her presentation, titled “Power of Words in Life.” drawing on extensive research and real-world examples. She underscored the transformative impact that carefully chosen words can have on individuals and society at large.
Complementing this insightful exploration, Asst. lect. Nahlah shared her knowledge in a presentation titled “Language Matters: The Impact of Words on People’s Lives.” Delving into the psychological and societal dimensions of language, she emphasized the importance of linguistic choices in shaping interpersonal relationships, cultural norms, and societal values.
As the international workshop concluded, participants left with a deeper appreciation for the intricate interplay between language and life. The shared knowledge and experiences are expected to catalyze ongoing collaborative efforts between LFU and UUM, fostering a rich academic exchange that transcends geographical boundaries.

- Regarding cultural differences to achieve more effective communication.
- Observing politeness strategies for promoting rapport connection.

- Asst. Lect. Nahlah N. Khorsheed holds doctorate degree in Linguistics from University Utara Malaysia, and currently, she is an Assistant Lecturer in College of Languages, English Department, Lebanese French University.
