On Monday, 13th November 2023, a seminar organized by the Department of Accounting and Finance in the College of Administration and Economics provided students enrolled in the Accounting for Unified Accounting System module with the opportunity to interact with guest speakers Mrs. Taban Saadi Pasha and Mr. Mohammed Khalid Mustafa, a distinguished representative from the Ministry of Higher Education. Mrs. Taban provided an in-depth analysis of the process of practical accounting in the public sector, shedding light on their complexities. Mrs. Taban offered a comprehensive explanation of several types of Charts of Accounts, encompassing both Assets, Liability, Revenue, and Expenses, while also introducing novel approaches to analyze the Charts of Accounts. Mr. Mohammed analyzed the process of privatization in the public sector through the use of software (Golden Asseal). Specifically, he drew attention to the simplified procedure for using the software, which enhances accessibility and user-friendliness. The seminar, organized with the guidance of the class tutor Mr. Rebin Bilal Mohammed, not only demystified complexities but also promoted financial inclusion by empowering individuals, including those with limited access to Charts of Accounts. Attendees left the session equipped with knowledge about the evolving landscape of Charts of Accounts.
