On Sunday, February 19, 2023, from 11:00 Am. to3:00 Pm., the Department of Computer engineering, College of Engineering and Computer Science organized international Workshop for faculty members titled “Technology 4.0” The session was presented by Asst. Prof. Dr.Suganthi Saravana Balaji and Dr Sankaraiah Sreeramula. This workshop had 30 physical attendees and 22 online attendees, the majority of whom were from the college of engineering and computer science.
Workshop Description:
Technology 4.0 is a term used to describe the fourth industrial revolution, marked by a shift from manual labor to automated processes, data, and technology to drive efficiency and productivity. This workshop aims to provide insights into the current automation and data exchange trend in manufacturing and other industrial sectors.

- Understand the Evolution of industraial revolution from 1.0 to 4.0
- Understand the current trends in Automation and data exchange in various industries
- Understand the role of Artificial Intelligence and its takeover in industrial automation

Presenter Information:
Dr. S.T.Suganthi is currently working as an Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Engineering, College of Engineering & Computer Science, Lebanese French University, Erbil, Kurdistan, Iraq. She is a proficient academician with over 15 years of experience in teaching and research in various educational institutions. She obtained the undergraduate degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and the postgraduate degree in Power Systems Engineering from Anna University, Chennai in 2005 and 2010 respectively. She has earned the Ph.D. degree from the Anna University, Chennai under the faculty of Electrical Engineering in 2018. As an outstanding researcher, Dr.S.T.Suganthi has been awarded with Robert S McNamara Fellowship from World Bank, for pursuing Ph.D through Research Based Student Exchange Programme in Multimedia University, Malaysia. Dr.S.T.Suganthi is a “Gold Medal Winner” of Anna University for her post graduate degree in Power Systems Engineering. She published more than 40 research articles in various reputed international journals and conferences. Also she acted as a resource person for various national level workshops, seminars and conferences. Her areas of interest include Power System Optimization, Restructured Power Systems, Artificial Intelligence, and Evolutionary computation.
Dr. Sankaraiah Sreeramula is currently working as Chief Data Scientist at APP SinarMas (Sinarmas Group) in Indonesia. He is an accomplished data science and AI leader with over 14+ years of experience in innovating and bringing new AI / data science driven solutions to different industries. He currently lead the Data Science team at Centre of Excellence in APP Sinarmas group. He is working in the areas of “sales and quantity forecasting”, “Airline data analytics”, “Supply and Demand forecasting”, “Industry 4.0 with Predictive Maintenance and Prescriptive Maintenance”, “Fibre tree analytics using Drones and Cloud” and “Precision Agriculture” Dr. S. Sankaraiah, received Ph.D with 10 ISI publications and with best thesis award in Information Technology from Multimedia University, Cyberjaya, Malaysia. He received Master of Engineering in Embedded System Technologies and Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Communication Engineering. During his research tenure as Intel Researcher, he has selected best brains in the world scholarship instituted by the Department of Education, Government of Malaysia. This scholarship was issued to outstanding researchers in Malaysian Universities. He has also selected as a young AI expert from Malaysia to attend World’s top 100 Artificial Intelligence researchers meet, Italy in 2016. He has filed one patent, published 2 book chapters, and 18 research publications in reputed ISI journals and conference proceedings. He has also successfully completed several research projects of national importance. He has delivered more than 50 hand’s on workshops, invited talks and Key note addresses in various Universities and Conferences.
