On Tuesday 1 and 9 November 2022, the Department of French language held the national workshop entitled ” New languages meeting”. The workshop's first session on the first day was presented by assistant lecturer Sarah Kayfi Akram, Head of French Language Department at Lebanese French University.
Assistant teacher Sarah Kayfi Akram, at the beginning of the workshop, gave an introduction to the French language by asking the staff teachers to answer a quiz on (Kahoot) which is a game-based learning platform, as a practical part. Then she displayed a French song to the teachers to recognize their comprehension of the language. In the second session, Assistant lecturer in English Language department Yulia Igorevna Bakai gave an introduction to the Ukrainian language which includes the culture, the country and the basic language.
On the second day of the workshop, the first session was presented by Assistant lecturer in General Education department Mr. Shaaban Sulaiman Sadeeq, including an introduction to the Turkish language explaining the grammatical side of the language. Finally, the second session was about an introduction to the Greek language presented by Assistant lecturer in French Language department Julie Guibreteau. She explained the alphabet and the root of the words in Greek language.
Workshop Outcome
1- Knowing the French, Turkish, Greek and Ukrainian language.
2- Empowering academic staff to learn French, Turkish, Greek and Ukrainian languages.
3- The importance of languages meeting.

1- Ms. Sarah Kayfi Akram, holds a master in Didactics of French as a Foreign / Second language and Languages of the World, at La Sorbonne Nouvelle – Paris 3 University. Currently, she is Assistant Lecturer and HOD, in French Language Department, College of Education and Languages at Lebanese French University, Erbil, Iraq.
2- Ms. Julie Guibreteau, holds a master in linguistics specialized in French as a foreign language, at University of Rouen. Currently, she is Assistant Lecturer , in French Language Department, College of Education and Languages at Lebanese French University, Erbil, Iraq.
3- Ms. Yulia Igorevna Bakai, holds a master in linguistics specialized in English language, at University of Mosul. Currently, she is Assistant Lecturer, in English Language Department, College of Education and Languages at Lebanese French University, Erbil, Iraq.
4- Mr. Shaaban Sulaiman Sadeeq, holds a master in literature specialized in English language, at University of Cyprus International University. Currently, he is Assistant Lecturer, in General Education Department, College of Education and Languages at Lebanese French University, Erbil, Iraq.
