Arabic Language and Translation Conducted a National Workshop

On Tuesday, 25-10-2022, The Department of Arabic Language and Translation at the College of Education and Languages ​​held a local workshop entitled (The Muhammadiyah Poems in Arabic Literature).

 The first session of the workshop was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Shawkat Taha Mahmoud, Professor at Salahaddin University where he talked about Arabic literature in general, and then he talked about the religious poem in general, and then the Muhammadiyah poem and its religious meanings and implications that talk about the personality of the Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and his family and grant them peace in all its aspects.

In the second session, Assistant Professor Dr. Nada Sami Nasser, a teaching assistant in the Department of Arabic Language and Translation, spoke about the importance of this workshop, because it was held on the anniversary of the Prophet’s birthday, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, because of the importance of this month to the whole world and Muslims in particular. She also spoke about the number of poets who wrote Muhammadiyah poems out of respect, love and appreciation for the Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace.

The number of attendees was 18 staff memebers. They valued the workshop and the ideas presented in it.

Workshop Outcome:

1- Emphasis on spreading the spirit of love and peace by mentioning a great Islamic and international figure such as the Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and his family and grant them peace.

2- Arabic literature is full of the greatest and most beautiful Muhammadian poems

3- Emphasizing that the Prophet (Muhammad), may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, with his morals and attributes, belong to all the worlds and not to one nation.

1- Assistant Professor Dr. Nada Sami Nasser – PhD in Arabic Language from Al-Mustansiriya University – Iraq, she currently holds the position of Head of the Arabic Language and Translation Department at the Lebanese French University

2- Assistant Professor Dr. Shawkat Taha Mahmoud, Ph.D. in Arabic literature from the University of Mosul, he teaches at Salahaddin University – Shaqlawa College of Education.
