دلالات لفظة) النور (في القرآن الكريم وكتب الوجوه والنظائر

  • (Al-noor) is an Arabic term and one of the most wonderful names of Allah and the name of one of the holly Qur’anic
Surahs. This term is one of the Qur'anic terms that bewildered the Arabs to whom the holly Qur'an was sent down and then widespread. Accordingly, the importance of studying this term emerged. In the present study we concentrated semantically on two levels: The first one is the face and isotopes meaning and the second is the meaning invoked in the Qur'anic text as presented in the books of interpretation and linguistics. At the end we came out with a comparison between the original lexicographic meaning and the meaning of the word (Al-noor) which acquired through the Qur'anic text to cope with, as the other Arabic words, all the ages that come later on and read it. That's why the Qur'an remains a timeless miracle till the Day of Resurrection. Here, the word (Alnoor) as an indicative of multiple meanings, mostly on moral implication: guidance, faith, the Qur'an, in addition to some other meanings that were mentioned in the research. It also indicates a material meaning since it means the light of the places in other positions of the Qur'anic text. In this research, we discriminated between (the light) and (the gleam) and we concluded that the light is more important than the gleam for it implies the faint or brief light and the strong bright one. The research also discriminated between “the darkness “and "light" in terms of meaning and in term of singularity and plurality. It is concluded that the light has one
source while darkness has multiple sources. It is also found that the word (Alnoor) does not exist in the Koran but in the form of noun and never occurred in the form of verb. It seems to us that the vowels in the noun have semantically proved to be the stronger than the verb and the verses that contain this term came to signify consistency and permanence. Hence, the linguistic miracles here lie in the use of the noun, not the verb and Allah knows best. In conclusion, we hope that we have been successful in analyzing the significance of this word which reveals an aspect of the miracle of language of the Qur'an.
