The Department of Accounting and Finance in the College of Administration and Economics conducted the International Workshop entitled “Attaining the English Language: Fluency vs Accuracy” on the 3rd of March 2022.
International Workshop Outcome
The following were the brief outcome of the workshop:
- The workshop was aiming at emphasizing the importance of using the English language meticulously in the classrooms.
- How to improvise the four language skills – Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing.
- The participants could identify the difference between language fluency and accuracy.
Presenters Information
- The workshop was inaugurated and the master of ceremony was carried out by Mr. Rahim Jaffar, Lecturer in Accounting and Finance Department, Lebanese French University.
- The felicitation address was presented by Dr. Nabaz Nawzad, the Dean of the College of Administration and Economics.
- Mr. Robinson Paulmony, Lecturer in Accounting and Finance Department, Lebanese French University focused on attaining Fluency in the language and the advantages of being fluent in the English language.
- The guest speaker was Mr. Sharoon Rubinstein, with the British council, Chennai, India an English teacher with over a decade of experience in teaching English and soft skills. He got DELTA, CELTY l, and CELTA from Cambridge University, UK. He has been teaching a variety of learners- including ones with first languages Arabic, Japanese, Korean, Russian, German, etc.
