The Department of Tourism Management arranged the Training Course

On 25, February , 2022, to 2 March , 2022 the Department of Tourism Administration held the six-week national training session entitled “Power and Influence.” All the six training session was presented by the lecturer. Houshyar Darbandi, the head department of tourism administration at Lebanese French University. In the first 4 hours session of the training, Houshyar defend the term of the influence and power of the workforce and how lecturers at universities or employees at an organization can get benefits from developing skills to influence one positively to adapt to companies ‘environment and its policy

In the second session, Houshyar addressed problems related to the methods of abusing power when working at a company and what measures can be put in the place to avoid power abuse

In the third week and third session, Houshyar held training related to changing management and addressed the difficulties with the work culture and changing the methods of the working conditions for the employees.

In the fourth session of the training was the trainer illuminated how to overcome the obstacles related to the changing management and working culture where many companies in Kurdistan still apply old-fashioned methods to perform work how we can change the work condition and work environment to adapt to the international arena.

in the fifth training session, the leadership approach was the subject and light has been shed on people who are born to be a leader

and what kind of combination of traits they have to be passed as a leader.

In the last and sixth sessions, a theory about the Authoritarian style has been held where Contingency Theories and Delegative leaders have been highlighted

Workshop Outcome

The following recommendation was given to solve the higher educational problem:

  1. Empowering workforce and academic staff to apply organization policy and teamwork
  2. Measures have been introduced on why we need to change the environment and work on cultural
  3. Which key objectives needs to be put in the place to remove work obstacles?
  4. benefits of the change and its impact on people
  5. How god leaders will influence the way that people work?

Houshyar Darbandi holds master degree in International Tourism Management in Metropolitan University in Manchester Uk. Currently, he is the head department of the Tourism Administration at Lebanese French University.
