Different Approaches to Teaching English as a Second Language

On Thursday, February 24 , 2022, the Department of General Education held the national workshop entitled “ Different Approaches to Teaching English as a Second Language.” The workshop was presented by Mrs. Laveen Kamaran Muhamad, asst. Lecturer in College of Education and languages at Lebanese French University, and assistant lecturer Shaaban Sulaiman. In the first session, assistant lecturer Shaaban Sulaiman discussed the importance of learning different methods and approaches for teaching second language by teachers. In the first session, assistant lecturer Laveen Kamaran shed the light on implementing different approaches for teaching second language and overcoming the difficulties faced by second language learners. On the other hand, the workshop focused on how children and adults are different in a matter of language learning.  Moreover, the differences between first and second language learning have been also concentrated on.
