The Obligations and Regulations of Education in Schools: Public Schools as Examples

On Thursday, February 17, 2022, the Department of Sociology held a national workshop entitled “The Obligations and Regulations of Education in Schools: Public Schools as Examples ” The workshop’s first session was presented by Ms. Shilan Saeed, social researcher at the Ministry of Education. At the beginning of the workshop, problems related to the system of education was addressed; then, she approached the lack of coherency among social researchers and school teachers in conjunction with the parents of school students. In the second session, Mr. Dana Salam, researcher at the Ministry of Education, explained how and why school researchers are not well-trained in terms of how to deal with social and psychological problems of students. He suggested that the Ministry of Education in cooperation with other ministries have to develop a plan on how to manage and solve the noted issues.

Workshop Outcome

The following recommendations were given to solve educational problems:

  1. To enhance team-work among the ministries.
  2. To increase trainings among social researchers to higher up their knowledge and skills.
  3. To center students within the educational area.
