On Thursday, November 14, 2024, the College of Health Sciences and the College of Pharmacy at the Lebanese French University, in collaboration with Hawler Medical University, organized a national workshop titled “World Diabetes Day. ”The National Workshop comprised various engaging and informative sessions aimed at addressing key public health issues.
Morning Ceremony
The workshop commenced with an official opening ceremony attended by (Dr. Abdolqader .Naqshbandi), the President, along with the presidency staff. Their presence underscored the significance of the event and set a formal tone for the day’s activities. Adding an interactive dimension to the ceremony, students actively participated by conducting practical medical tests, showcasing their skills and engaging attendees in hands-on health assessments. This initiative reflected the workshop’s focus on both education and application, emphasizing the importance of practical learning in healthcare.
Workshop Sessions
The workshop was divided into two key sessions:
First Session:
Presented by Dr. Hemn Abdulazeez Barzani and Dr. Serwan Suliman, this session focused on the background and history of diabetes and the significance of World Diabetes Day.
Second Session:
Led by Dr. Muhamad Merza, Dr. Botan Abdulqadr, and Dr. Rondk Ahmad, this session highlighted vital information about managing diabetes, offering instructions for treatment, and discussing prevention strategies.
Workshop Outcome
The workshop successfully promoted a collective understanding of the significance of addressing diabetes through awareness, education, and action. It underscored the need for collaborative efforts at individual and organizational levels to combat this growing global health challenge.
