International Workshop “Applications of Blockchain – Smart Contracts and More”

On Sunday, January 8, 2023, from 11:00 Am. to3:00 Pm., the Department of Information Technology, College of Engineering and Computer Science organized international Workshop for faculty members titled “Applications of Blockchain – Smart Contracts and More” The session was presented by Asst. Prof.  Dr. Savarana Balaji B and Associate Professor.Dr. K.R.Jothi . This workshop had 30 physical attendees and 32 online attendees, the majority of whom were from the college of engineering and computer science.

Workshop Description:

A blockchain is a distributed ledger that records transactions and is maintained by many nodes through a distributed cryptographic protocol with no central authority. Smart contracts on the blockchain make transactions traceable, transparent and irreversible. Blockchain technology and smart contracts are expected to play an important role in emerging areas such as the Internet of things (IoT), cyber-physical systems (CPS), social networking, crowdsourcing and next generation wireless communications. On the other hand, their advancement should be further developed in terms of scalability, privacy, efficiency, flexibility, and high dependability.

Workshop Outlines:

The International Workshop “Applications of Blockchain – Smart Contracts and More” aims to provide a high-profile, cutting-edge forum for students, teachers, researchers, engineers, and practitioners to present the latest advances and innovations in key theories, infrastructure, schemes and major applications of blockchain software, and to identify emerging research topics and define the future.

  • To understand what Blockchain is and why it is used
  • To be able to explain the different components involved within Blockchain
  • To know when and why you may want to use Blockchain within your environment
  • To master at a high level what cryptocurrency is?

Workshop place:

Lebanese French University, Building 2, pedagogy hall.
