On Thursday, December 8, 2022, the Department of Health Administration at the College of Administration and Economics arranged a community activity coordination with the traffic safety culture Organization. The event was dedicated to raising awareness of traffic errors and introducing ways and methods to prevent or decrease traffic issues by providing adequate information in the Kurdistan Region. The broachers, leaflets, information, and posters were shared among students and teaching staff of all departments introducing the issues and the points that the community needs to be more aware of. The activity was also followed by the workshop presented by Police. chief. Qader Sadeq Mahmoud, head of the traffic safety cultural organization, and Police. Chief. Yousif Bazyani, head of the road safety cultural organization. In their workshop, they explained the issues and the actions to be taken in order to improve the awareness of society, At the end of the workshop, they suggested creating an institution to improve road safety. This requires naming a lead agency with the right legal backing and enough money to make sure it has the right tools and staff with the right training. So, efforts should be made to stop accidents from not being reported and to harmonize data from different sources. We should also try to get our country to follow the road safety laws that are already in place, especially when it comes to controlling speed, wearing helmets, controlling alcohol use, improving emergency trauma care, and making roads more visible. Countries that don’t have this kind of law should try to get it as soon as possible, and our country should commit to teaching and training the public about road safety, Moreover, it is essential to emphasize that the activity will be carried on in the form of an ongoing series of campaigns.
