How to Evaluate the Quality of Mathematics Teaching at the University Level According to ISLLC?

On November 3rd, 2021, Department of General Education in College of Education & Languages organized a national workshop titled “How to evaluate the quality of mathematics teaching at the university level according to the American Quality Management Standards (ISLLC)”. The workshop’s first session was presented by Dr. Nedhal Abdul Hafedh. Dr. Nedhal outlined the concept, technique, and required skills for evaluating math education. The workshop’s second session was presented by lecturer Shahzad Hasan. Mr. Shahzad went over the specifics of American standards and how important it is for teachers to be able to evaluate. 17 staff members from the College of Education and Languages and some visitors from outside the university attended the workshop.

Workshop Outcomes

The participants will be able to:

  1. Assess the quality of mathematics and other topics taught in the classroom.
  2. Assess the quality of instruction using American quality management standards.
  3. Develop the skills needed to evaluate according to the American Quality Management Standards (ISLLC)”.

Information on the presenters

  1. Dr. Nedhal Abdul Hafedh Taher earned her Ph.D. in mathematics education from Alexandria University in Egypt, and she is currently a lecturer at the Lebanese French University in Erbil, Department of General Education, College of Education and Languages.
  2. Mr. Shahzad Hasan is working as the Head of the Department and a Lecturer in the Lebanese French University, Erbil, Kurdistan region, Iraq. He has finished his Master in Damascus University (Fundamental of education), Syria. He has a teaching and a research experience nearly 9 years. He published many articles in the international journals and presented papers in many conferences in global level.
