Names and Traits of Prophet Muhammad (May God Bless Him and His family and Grant Him Peace) in the Holy Quran

On Sunday, October 20 2021, Department of Arabic Language and Translation in College of Education and Languages held a national workshop entitled “Names and Traits of Prophet Muhammad (may God bless him and his family and grant them peace) in the Holy Qur’an”.

The first session of the workshop was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Shawkat Taha Mahmoud, a teacher at Salah El-Din University and a lecturer in the Department of Arabic Language and Translation.

Where he talked about the personality of the Prophet Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and the meaning of each of his names, linguistically and then morally, as well as the implicit relationship between each of his names and each of his attributes, for its great role in spreading the culture of the great Prophet in guiding the nation and the world at large.

In the second session, Assistant Professor Dr. Nada Sami Nasser, Teaching Assistant in the Department of Arabic Language and Translation, spoke about the importance of this workshop because it was held on the anniversary of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (may God bless him and grant him peace). 

Workshop Outcome:

1- Emphasis on spreading the spirit of love and peace by mentioning a great Islamic and international figure such as the Prophet Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family

2- Religion is a transaction, and this is by focusing on the great qualities of our Prophet Muhammad, upon him be blessings and peace, in dealing and dealing.

3- Emphasizing that the Prophet (Muhammad), may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, with his morals and attributes, is for all worlds, not just for one nation

Presenters’ information

  1. Assistant Professor Dr. Nada Sami Nasser – PhD in Arabic Language from Al-Mustansiriya University – Iraq, she currently holds the position of Head of the Arabic Language and Translation Department at the Lebanese French University
  2. Assistant Professor Dr. Shawkat Taha Mahmoud, Ph.D. in Arabic literature from the University of Mosul, he teaches at College of Education – Shaqlawa, Salahaddin University.
